 I’ve been living the Paleo life for two years now and finally bought myself a spiralizer.
Crazy, right?
I feel like I’ve been missing out on so many different kinds of oodles, zoodles, and spoodles!
So, last night I made zucchini and yellow squash ‘noodles’ with my homemade spicy mushroom meatless bolognese sauce.
I’m addicted!
I was like a feen rummaging through the fridge trying to see what I could spiralize next.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve spiralized?
I couldn’t just make ‘noodles’ for dinner without dressing them up; they needed a delicious sauce.

Paleo, Vegan, Vegetarian, and Whole30 compliant.
Naturally free of grains, gluten, eggs, meat, dairy, soy, sugar, legumes, and tree nuts.

Spicy Mushroom Bolognese Sauce

  • 14.5 oz Can Diced Tomatoes
  • 8 oz. Portabella Mushrooms
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 3 Cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 TBSP Tomato Paste
  • 1 TSP Oregano
  • 1 TSP Paprika
  • 1 TSP Cumin
  • 1 TSP Dried Basil
  • 1/4 TSP Red Pepper Flakes
  • Salt & Pepper


  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add in EVOO, garlic, and diced onion. Cook for 3 minutes. Add in thinly sliced mushrooms and cook for 6-8 minutes or until water from mushrooms is completely evaporated.

  2. Add the rest of the ingredients to skillet. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

Recipe Notes

Top over your choice of 'noodle.'
