Are you sick of eating the same breakfast day in and day out? I know, I am! Let me help out by saying you don’t have to eat those soggy eggs tomorrow morning. This chocolate chia pudding will change your boring breakfast into a delicious, healthy, energy-filled alternative.
Skip the hassle of having to cook breakfast tomorrow morning and do it tonight! This recipe is easy to make (if you have a food processor, which I highly encourage everyone to have) and only requires five ingredients. Best of all, zero cooking is involved.
I think we underestimate the health benefits of all seeds; especially the chia seed. The chia seed has become one of the most popular superfoods in today’s health community, as it is considered one of the healthiest seeds on earth. Don’t let its size fool you; this seed is loaded with beneficial nutrients. One tablespoon is jam-packed with your daily dose of necessary proteins, antioxidants, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals, and energy.
The chia seed is native to South America and was admired by the Mayans for the natural source of energy it provided them. As a matter of fact, the word chia in the Mayan language means, strength. For such a small seed it packs a powerful punch of nutrients.
I have also eaten this as a snack and a pre-workout energy booster. Being a mom, I definitely lack in that department. I am at the point of exhaustion where my coffee just works as a laxative now. This pudding is gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, sugar-free, peanut/tree nut-free and makes a delicious breakfast alternative.
This pudding tastes great by itself or topped with fresh fruit. My favorite fruit toppings are a mix of blueberries, bananas, and strawberries. This chocolate chia pudding has become a family favorite. I usually make this once a week. If you are not a big fan of raw cacao powder, this tastes just as good without it, topped with fruit. Make this tonight and indulge tomorrow morning. You won’t want to eat ‘boring’ ever again.
